Completed in 1973 this four movement Sonata was one of Butterworth's earliest works for a solo string instrument. Composed for the Bass player, Bronwen Naish, the work very successfully displays the particular qualities and sonorities of the instrument.

Please note that this edition is for Bass in solo tuning.
